Overview

If you have taken Handgun 101 and are looking for the next class in the progression of becoming more efficient with your firearm, or if it has been years since you obtained your concealed carry license, Handgun 202 Shooting Fundamentals, is the next step!  In this class, we will reinforce firearm & range safety and go more in depth into understanding the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship.  Emphasis will be put on accuracy & problem solving and this will be achieved through a series of dry fire drills, malfunction drills and reloading technics.  We then take these skills to the range where an instructor will help you master these building blocks of becoming a better educated shooter for sport or self-defense.

In this class you will learn the following:

  • Reinforce fundamentals of safe handgun operation & range safety
  • Understanding fundamentals of pistols marksmanship (How to be your own coach)
  • Understanding proper reloading techniques
  • Properly identifying & clearing common malfunctions

Requirements

  • Handgun & 50 rounds of ammunition (L.E.P.D. will provide rental firearm as needed. Ammunition is available for purchase the day of the class)
  • Successful completion of Handgun 101 or L.E.P.D.’s concealed carry class
  • Absolutely no ammunition is allowed in the classroom at any time.  Please leave all ammunition in your vehicle or in the lockers provided.
  • Eye and ear protection (Provided for free if needed)
  • Photo ID (driver license, state-issued ID, or passport)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (under 21yrs of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian)
  • Not under indictment or been convicted of a felony in the U.S. or elsewhere
  • Not convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence
  • Not under court order (i.e. order of protection, harassment, etc.)
  • Not a fugitive from justice
  • Not a user of or addicted to any controlled substance
  • Not been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces
  • Have never renounced U.S. citizenship
  • Do not suffer from mental illness and have not been adjudicated mentally incompetent or committed to a mental institution
